SAP Center Bag Policy
The SAP Center bag policy has been updated for 2023. Please review the guidelines below before attending a San Jose Sharks game or concert at the arena in San Jose, California. To provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees, the SAP Center has implemented specific guidelines for bags and purses. In this post, we’ll highlight the key aspects of this policy so you can plan your visit with ease.
SAP Center Purse Policy: Size Matters
SAP Center uses a two-tier bag screening system. Small bags measuring 5″ x 9″ x 2″ or smaller will pass through standard security screening for the fastest entry. Larger bags up to the maximum size of 20″ x 14″ x 11″ are permitted but must go through X-ray inspection, which may result in longer wait times. Bags larger than 20″ x 14″ x 11″ will not be permitted. All bags must be able to fit under your seat once inside. Backpacks are allowed provided they meet the size limits. Clear bags are not required — opaque bags of any type are welcome as long as they comply with size rules. Medical bags (containing prescription medication, EpiPens, inhalers, breast pumps, etc.) and parenting/diaper bags accompanied by a child are permitted regardless of size, but will be screened by X-ray and marked with a colored tag.

Rentable Binbox Lockers for Oversized Bags
In case your bag exceeds the allowed dimensions, the SAP Center offers rentable Binbox lockers for storage. There is a $10 non-refundable charge per bag checked, and payment is cashless. Accepted forms of payment include debit/credit cards and mobile payments, such as Apple or Google Pay.
Bag Check Operating Hours
The bag check service opens 45 minutes before stadium doors open and closes one (1) hour post-event. Any bags remaining after the bag check closes will be returned to 24-hour Security. Make sure to retrieve your belongings within the specified timeframe to avoid any inconvenience.
